A SECOND sexual assault has been reported in Bure Park in Bicester in the space of a week.

At approximately 2.15pm on Monday, a 15-year-old girl was sat in a secluded area of the park’s nature reserve when a man sat next to her.

He touched her inappropriately and tried to kiss her.

Thames Valley Police says it is not making a link with an earlier incident where a 44-year-old woman was assaulted in the Bure Park nature reserve on Wednesday last week.

Det Insp Mike Lynch, from Force CID, said: “Although this offence occurred at the same place as the sexual assault in the previous week, the two incidents are not believed to be linked.

“Our neighbourhood officers will continue to patrol the area every day and I would appeal to anyone who saw a man matching this description to contact Thames Valley police on 101.”

The man who tried to kiss the teenager was white and around 70 years old. He had white hair, a white beard, a large build and is approximately 5ft 7ins tall.

He wore small rectangular glasses, a navy zip-up fleece and trousers, and was walking a black German Shepherd dog with a black leather collar.

Anyone with information should contact Thames Valley Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
