Two pedestrians killed on M40 and A34

TWO people died in separate incidents on the M40 and A34 this weekend.

At abut 9am on Saturday, a silver Ford Fiesta heading south on the M40 collided with a woman in the carriageway between Junction 12 and Junction 11.

The woman is thought to have been a passenger in a car which had stopped on the hard shoulder, and police believe she was retrieving property from the carriageway.

The woman, aged in her sixties, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

And 20-year-old Jonathan Roberts died after a collision with a car on the A34 slip road at Redbridge Hollow in Oxford shortly before 2am on Saturday.

Mr Roberts, who was on foot, is believed to have been a history student at Oxford University.
