HOUSEHOLDERS are being reminded to take basic security precautions after the latest in a recent series of break-ins in Bicester.

Police said burglars let themselves into a home in St Peter’s Crescent overnight on Monday last week through an unlocked side door.

They then stole £140 from a handbag in the hallway.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Thames Valley Police on the new non-emergency number 101.

Residents were also advised to take precautions such as buying a 24-hour timer to use on a lamp, radio or TV.

Valuables can also be registered for free on www.immobilise.com to help recover goods and catch crooks.
