Bicester’s yearly celebration of all things cycling attracted 300 visitors last weekend.
A2Dominion’s 2016 annual Bike Day took place on July 24, at the field behind Bicester Leisure Centre.
Activities included a Tour de Bicester treasure hunt style family ride around town where 130 participants collected answers from yellow jerseys along the route.
Once ‘home’ they completed a Bicester themed cycling quiz and claimed their medals, presented to them on a podium made from recycled pallets.
More than 200 cyclists completed a 65-mile or 100-mile route and Bicester Millennium Cycle Club (BMCC) also organised its cyclo-cross event. The course included a new wooden bicycle track with various twists and turns.
Other activities included a climbing wall, a penalty shoot-out, a ladies Breeze ride and a Watt bike challenge. There were also 10 new beginner riders doing a five-mile loop of the town while Earthline promoted cycle road safety.
