PEOPLE in Winslow will have to wait until the new year to find out if a community shelter is to be built on Lowndes Way.
Winslow Town Council had submitted a planning application to build a sheltered meeting place for the local community to Aylesbury Vale District Council, which was due to make a decision on Thursday last week.
Councillors on the strategic development control committee voted to carry out a site visit, due to be held on Monday morning, before making a decision, but the visit had to be cancelled due to bad weather.
The site visit has been rescheduled for January 10 and a decision could be made at the end of January next year.
Deputy mayor, councillor Llew Monger said: “Unfortunately, the grant money we have available needs to be spent by the end of January. We have taken advice and it has been suggested we should still be OK, but it is most unfortunate.”
