The Buckingham AED Project raised £424.38 in donations from its demonstrations of an automated external defibrillator (AED) outside Waitrose, Buckingham, last Saturday.

Even though the weather was cold, the volunteer ‘bodies’ bravely bared their chests to receive the pads of the demonstration defibrillator for the awareness-raising event in Meadow Walk.

Many passers-by stopped to learn more about the project, and 28 people signed up as supporters to receive the campaign’s newsletters.

The Buckingham AED Project aims to raise £7,500 to purchase and install three AEDs in areas of high footfall in Buckingham, with the first to be placed on the outside wall of Buckingham Community Centre.
