Claire Guest and Daisy

Daisy’s Gift, published by Virgin Books today, Friday, is named after Claire Guest’s own dog, Daisy, who saved her life by detecting a very deep and hard-to-diagnose form of breast cancer.

But it also tells the story of Claire’s early life as a shy child, her failed marriage and subsequent breakdown, and her great many years of living and working with dogs, which led the way to the pioneering cancer detection work of Great Horwood-based charity Medical Detection Dogs and its eventual acceptance by the medical profession.
