This September South Northants Drama Festival will enter its third year.

Local theatre groups Weston and Lois Weedon Drama Group, Helmdon Bridge Players and Eydon Players will perform a variety of one-act plays .

All three groups have previously performed in the past two festivals.

The plays performed will be Diana Raffle’s The Canary Cage, by Weston and Lois Weedon Drama Group, Matron Don’t Allow, by the Helmdon Bridge Players, and an original play which will be written, directed and acted by the Eydon Players.

The Weston and Lois Weedon Drama Group was formed in 1998 and has performed pantomimes and murder mystery evenings as well as traditional plays.

The Helmdon Bridge Players were founded in 1988 with a pantomime performance and have expanded into more ambitious productions since, which they perform each summer.

The Eydon Players were founded in 1990 and include members from age seven upwards.

The festival will take place at the village hall at Lois Weedon on September 13 and 14.
