PLAIN clothed and uniformed officers will be patrolling around the clock as tens of thousands descend on the district for the MotoGP World Championship as Silverstone this weekend.
Northants Police say they have the experience to draw upon in order to minimise crime and the impact on local residents.
Event Commander, chief Inspector Sean Bell said: “Northants police works extremely hard to maintain the trust and confidence of our communities and it is especially important when policing a high profile event that we do not forget the concerns of our local residents. “Anybody with any concerns during or after the event should contact us by email, the switchboard, or via their local Safer Community Team.
Mr Bell added: “Sadly at any large gathering there will be a minority of people intent on committing crime.”
Local people are also warned to expect delays on the roads. Contacted police on 03000 111222.
