Footballers of the future got to meet their heroes and picked up some tips ahead of MK Dons’ big day for Buckingham.
Dons players Kyle McFadzean, Lee Hodson, Samir Carruthers and Jordan Spence put more than 70 youngsters through their paces with shooting, passing and dribbling drills.
The children, from Bourton Meadow School and Moretonville Juniors, got the chance to meet the pros and have their shirts signed at the Royal Latin School on Thursday.
Club marketing executive Sarah Thompson, who went along with the players, said: “We were really pleased. The turnout was great and there was lots of screaming, a lot of excitable kids.”
But the town’s football fans get another kick from the Dons when the club throws its Buckingham Big Day next weekend as they welcome Peterborough United to Stadium MK.
There are discounted match ticket prices for anyone living in the MK18 postcode and a shuttle bus running from the town centre.
An eight-page Buckingham supplement will be found in the matchday program, there is a charity collection for the Buckingham Citizens Advice Bureau and Izzy Griffiths is performing at half-time with musicians from The Buckingham School.
The Buckingham Big Day takes place on February 21 with £10 tickets for adults and £3 tickets for under 18s.
