A 59-year-old man was airlifted to hospital following a crash at Silverstone Circuit on Saturday.
The Warks and Northants Air Ambulance (WNAA) was called to the race track at around 5pm to treat the driver who had suffered suspected neck and back injuries after being thrown from his car during the incident. He was initially treated by emergency services at the scene before being taken to Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital for treatment.
The injured driver was taking part in a MG Car Club meeting at the world famous track when he rolled his car. The race day marked the start of this year’s MG Car Club race season.
In 2013, WNAA attended 333 road traffic collisions, making up for 42 per cent of their total callouts.
