A motorist needed hospital treatment after being attacked in an apparent case of road rage.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack at the temporary traffic lights at the Calvert new roundabout roadworks, westbound on the A41 Bicester Road.

The victim, a 52-year-old man from Aylesbury, driving a black Vauxhall Corsa, stopped his vehicle at the traffic lights.

A flatbed lorry stopped in front of him, also by the traffic lights. The driver of that vehicle then got out and approached the victim.

An altercation took place during which the victim had his hand trapped in a car door, causing him an injury on his hand which required treatment at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

It happened between 6.45am and 7.30am on July 11, police said today (Saturday).

A 33-year-old man from Aylesbury has been interviewed by police in connection with this incident.
