Parents and villagers are invited to tour a new outdoor classroom in the style of a Native American teepee at Finmere Primary School on Monday, September 24.

The Friends of Finmere School will hand the new classroom over at 2.15pm.

Although it is covered in canvas instead of animal skins, the design of the modern teepee is much the same as a traditional one.

The new classroom will give children a peaceful environment for learning in the great outdoors.

After the official hand-over, visitors can spend time in the teepee and the school grounds, to be followed by tea and cake.

Those interested in attending the opening should contact the school office on 01280 848459.

The new outdoor learning classroom will be dedicated by the Bishop of Dorchester, the Rt Rev’d Colin Fletcher, on Thursday, October 11, at 9am.
