SIXTY of Bicester’s senior citizens were invited to The Cooper School this week for a four course Christmas lunch.
Each year, the school hosts a lunch for senior citizens and this is the third year it has taken place.
The guests enjoyed a traditional Christmas menu featuring soup, roast turkey with all the trimmings, Christmas pudding followed by coffee and mince pies.
Following the meal the school choir provided festive entertainment with a performance of traditional and modern songs.
The event was arranged by the school’s catering team and sourced by donations from local businesses and suppliers.
The school’s business manager, Steve Cook, said: “It is always a pleasure to provide this lunch which wouldn’t be possible without the support we receive every year from local businesses.
“Additionally we will be delivering 40 Christmas hampers around the town to some senior citizens who were unable to attend.
“The hampers are stocked from donations from students and parents. We are happy that we can put something back into the local community, especially at this time of year.”
