YOUNG readers just a few days left in which to design logo which will be seen in the Advertiser at least once a month.

Recently the Advertiser has teamed up with Magdalen College School in Brackley, Sponne School in Towcester, Kingsbrook School in Deanshanger, and Moulton College in Silverstone to give them their own special space in the paper.

The plan is to give students the chance to see reports they have written about school activities printed in their paper, as well as promoting the good work done by teachers and school administrations. The page will appear on the second Friday of every month, but if enough students get involved it could become a weekly page.

In the build up to the first edition the Advertiser is looking for a student to design a logo which will be seen at the top of every Schools’ Page. The design should be simple so that it can be clearly seen when reproduced for the paper and must symbolise journalism and schools.

As an example turn to the Our World in Your Hands section on page 16. The flower logo on that page was created by a student in Buckingham three years ago.

Acting editor Craig Lewis said: “We’re really excited about developing stronger links with young people and hopefully the Schools’ Page will complement and build on what they are already studying at school.

“The logo is a key part of that and we want something colourful and exciting which will draw readers’ attentions to the page.”

Entries will be accepted from any secondary school student in the district and should be either emailed to or posted to The Advertiser and Review, 61-62 Well Street, Buckingham, MK18 1EN. Please ensure contact details are included.

Watch out for the first edition of the Schools’ Page in next weeks paper.
