STAFF and students at the Royal Latin School said goodbye to a long-standing governor last month.

Ken Barclay has retired from the school’s governing body after 20 years.

Other governors at the school, past and present, gathered with Bucks County Council’s director of children and young people’s services, Sue Imbriano, to mark his retirement.

During his time, Dr Barclay has been chairman of the premises committee, helping to guide through the landscaping of the new bus bay and car park as well as the building of the sports centre and new teaching block.

Chair of governors, Andrew Mulholland, said: “Ken has been an invaluable member of the governing body, full of enthusiasm and totally committed to the school. His knowledge of the school site buildings is second to none and will be very difficult to replace.”

Dr Barclay was presented with a picture of the school and engraved crystal.
