Thinking about babysitting? Learn about it on course

BABYSITTING courses devised by the Red Cross are now being run in Towcester for young people aged 14 and over.

The next course, which runs for 10 weeks will start on Wednesday, March 2, at Towcester Town Hall and is delivered by Youth and Community Development Services in Northants.

The babysitting course provides babysitting guidance for young people who may already be babysitting or are thinking that they might like to babysit and earn some money.

All of the session are interactive and involve the group through information sharing, discussion and practical activities.

The young people will be learning about expectations as a babysitter, the law with regard to babysitting, accident prevention, fire safety, first aid and dealing with challenging babysitting situations.

After completing the course, the young people will have a better understanding of how to maintain the safety and wellbeing of children in their care.

Participants will receive the St John Ambulance Emergency First Aid Certificate as part of the course.

The course is delivered by trained, experienced and qualified youth work practitioners and teachers who are CRB checked. More details from course directors Karen Bricknell on 07588 485244, Alison Barlow, 07757 159483 or email
