A COACH passenger kept a severely injured motorist consious for more than an hour after his car was involved in a head-on collision.
Mike Clare, from Bicester, was the first person on the scene after the coach he was travelling in collided with the motorist’s car on Wednesday, August 24.
The 28-year-old driver was trapped in his vehicle for more than an hour after the collision on Thame Road in Oakley, near Morgan’s Mini Diggers.
In all he was trapped for 80 minutes.
Mr Clare was one of four people travelling on the coach at the time of the crash.
He said: “I just hope he’s ok.
“Another passenger and I were the first to go over to the car – I didn’t want to go over first, not knowing what to expect.
“We just kept him talking to keep him conscious until the emergency services arrived.
“He was in a lot of pain.”
The man, who has not been named but was from Haddenham, is said to have suffered ‘life-changing’ injuries, although exact details remain unknown.
He was taken by ambulance to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
