A 100-year-old lady said she felt like the Queen after enjoying a luxury facial to celebrate her big birthday this week.

Hamilton House Care Home, in Buckingham, held a party for Susan Simpson on Saturday, April 5.

Mrs Simpson was joined by her son, Thomas, her daughter-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren for the celebration.

Hamilton House staff and residents and their families also joined in.

The staff presented her with a card and a very special present.

Activities co-ordinatorSarah Picketts said: “The staff did a collection for Susan to have a facial at the home because Susan told a carer her last wish was to have a professional facial.”

This week, Buckingham salon Beauty Box made that dream come true for Susan.

Miss Picketts said: “They actually gave her a birthday card and a bunch of white roses and at the end they gave her a gift bag of some Clarins things.

“She said it was luxury.

“She said she felt like the Queen.”

Born in Glasgow on April 5 1914, Susan married her husband, Thomas Simpson, and they had twins, of whom only Thomas survives.

Susan worked in service, and at one time cleaned the dormitories at Stowe School.

Miss Picketts said: “Susan is well loved here and the staff and residents felt privileged to celebrate with her on her special day.”
