A creative Christmas shop window display bagged a voter a huge Christmas hamper of goodies.
Buckingham resident Naomi Beaven won a hamper worth over £150 from Waitrose Buckingham after voting for the winning window of Secret Messages Emporium, on Bridge Street, Buckingham.
The competition encouraging people to vote for their favourite shop window was run by the traders’ association, Shop Buckingham, with the support of Waitrose Buckingham.
Secret Messages Emporium received about 60 per cent of the votes cast by residents. in the contest.
Shop owner Krys Doyle was presented with a bottle of champagne for his extraordinary window display, which features an entire tree, a pair of 1940s lead crystal chandeliers from a French chateau and a reindeer candelabra.
He told the Advertiser: “I’m over the moon. I got the people’s vote, which means I’m doing something right for them.
“I do actually have people on Twitter asking me: ‘What’s the next window going to be?’”
Mrs Beaven won the hamper, after people voting in the contest were entered in a prize draw.
Four members of Waitrose Buckingham staff helped her carry the hamper contents, which filled three boxes, to her car.
Mrs Beaven said she was looking forward to opening her hamper with husband Sy and daughters Akasha, aged 16, and Hera, 15.
Mrs Beaven said: “I can’t wait. I think all the stuff in Waitrose is so nice, its a real treat.”
