JOURNALIST and author, Dan Jones, will sign copies of his new book in a visit to Cole’s Books in Bicester.
Dan, who is a columnist for the Evening Standard and hails from Marsh Gibbon, will talk about his book The Plantagenets at An Evening at Cole’s on Friday, June 8, from 7pm.
Eight generations of the greatest and worst kings and queens this country has ever seen - from the White Ship to the Lionheart, bad King John to the Black Prince and John of Gaunt - this is the dynasty that invented England as we still know it today.
The Plantagenets is both a narrative history of the ‘high’ Middle Ages, and a portrait of a family blessed and cursed in equal measure.
Dan also writes for The Times, The Telegraph, The Spectator, The Literary Review, The New Statesman, GQ, BBC History Magazine and History Today. He is a contributing editor to ES Magazine and editor-at-large of Men’s Health magazine, where he deals chiefly with celebrity content.
Dan Jones can be followed on Twitter, @dangjones.
Tickets for this event cost £5 and include wine, fruit juice and nibbles. Tickets will also give £5 off the price of the book as well as 10 per cent off other purchases on the evening.
