Investigators suspect an electrical fault in a shed caused a fire which almost destroyed a neighbouring home.
Just before 4am today, Monday September 9, fire crews from Towcester, Great Holm and Buckingham were called to Elm Drive in Deanshanger.
A spokesman for Bucks Fire and Rescue said: “It came through intially as a shed fire, so it seems to have started in the shed or fence area of the property.
“It’s then spread to the house next door and got into the roof and caused significant damage to the roof and a mixture of fire, smoke and heat damage to the first floor.”
He added: “As it is a semi-detached property we believe it was a good stop in terms of preventing it from spreading to the adjoining house.
“The fire investigation is being led by Northants and the initial feeling is it could have been an electrical fault.”
No one was injured in the fire.
