The Buckingham Group has doubled its support for Buckingham & Winslow Citizens Advice and is calling on other local businesses to follow suit.
Buckingham Group Contracting and Buckingham Plant Hire are giving a one-off grant of £10,000 to Citizens Advice Buckingham Winslow and District – double their previous support.
And now the chairman of the Dadford-based company, Paul Wheeler, is calling on other businesses to join him in supporting CAB.
Paul said: “The funding from local government is only going to get tighter.
“We need to protect this vital service to the community.
“It’s a local service run by local people and it deserves support from local donors.
“That’s why Buckingham Group is doubling our donation this year.
“I call on other local businesses to join us in supporting the CAB in its hour of need.”
The CAB will help anyone who turns to it, whether with problems around debt or benefits, or when a sudden turn in life puts them in a vulnerable position and in need of advice.
Jane Mordue is the chairman of BACAB, the charity which supports the local CAB with an annual donation of £25,000 to ensure it keeps going.
Jane said: “We are immensely grateful for this donation, which will make a huge difference to the support we can give to the CAB.
“We do encourage all other local businesses to meet Paul’s challenge, and ask them to contact us, whether or not they are a current supporter of BACAB, to find out how they can help.”
