Ageing could be medically reversed within your lifetime.

That is the subject of a free public talk in Buckingham by age specialist Aubrey de Grey on Thursday, February 27.

Mr de Grey is the chief science officer of the SENS (Strategies for Engineered Negligible Senescence) Research Foundation, in California.

He will be arguing that regenerative medicine is now advancing from a futuristic twinkle in a few visionaries’ eyes to a realistic strategy for addressing numerous medical conditions.

And he will explain why therapies that can add 30 years to the lifespan of 60-year-olds may arrive within the next few decades, with an emphasis on recent progress. The lecture, organised by the University of Buckingham, takes place in the Chandos Road Building at 6.30pm.

Drinks and nibbles will be served at the end.
