Fun for all on bank holiday

THE Rotary Club of Towcester has organised a family fun day on Monday, August 29, at the Recreation Ground.

There will be a dog show with 14 different categories, prizes in pedigree and novelty classes with an entry fee of just £1. Duck races with prizes of up to £100 and a top children’s prize £50 will also take place.

Other attractions include stalls, main ring activities, refreshments and music to add to the fun.

> WADDESDON Manor will host a Quantum Theatre adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic, Great Expectations on Saturday, August 27, from 5.30pm.

> BICESTER Town Council is putting on a Battle Proms event in aid of Help For Heroes. The event will take place at Garth Park on Saturday, September 3.

The band of the Royal Logistic Corps will headline. There will be an uplifting firework finale where traditional proms songs will be sung and flags will be waved.

MC for the evening is Charlie Ross, a favourite of BBC series Antiques Roadshow and Flog It.
