A funding fair is being hosted in Towcester to help voluntary and community groups have better access to grants.
South Northants Volunteer Bureau (snvb), South Northamptonshire Council, Daventry District Council and Daventry Volunteer Centre are hosting the event for groups across Northamptonshire.
If you are a member of a voluntary and community group which is seeking funding you can visit Towcester Racecourse on Tuesday, May 10, between 10am and 3pm for the free event.
There will be representatives from national and local organisations offering information on grant programmes such as the London Marathon Charitable Trust, Heritage Lottery Fund, Northamptonshire Community Foundation, Mid Counties Co-operative, South Northamptonshire Council and Daventry District Council.
Several of the funders are providing presentations where groups can find out more about the various grant programmes on offer.
One of the exhibitors is Voluntary Impact Northamptonshire who will be available to demonstrate a funding search engine, such as GRANTfinder.
Presentation bookings can be made on the day but the partners recommend pre-booking presentations as places are limited.
There will be representatives from local community groups, all with extensive knowledge and experience of successfully applying to funders for various sized grants. The representatives are from Towcestrians Sports Club, Pattishall Parish Hall and Crick Sports Field Association and they will be available to chat informally to visitors in the networking lounge area. Representatives from community groups, large and small, are welcome to drop in at any time.
Melanie Bignell, operations manager from snvb said: “This is an excellent opportunity for people to meet face to face with a wide range of experts locally and network with some local groups who are very well versed in the grant funding journey; and willing to pass on their knowledge and tips to those new to applying for grants. The partners are very excited that several national grant funding organisations are willing to come to Northamptonshire and join with local grant making agencies to share their knowledge and give their support to help local voluntary and community sector groups.”
