The fun day, organised and staffed by Aylesbury Vale District Council and sponsored by Mix 96, celebrates National Play Day and aims to encourage and develop family play.

This year’s event is happening on Wednesday, 5 August, from 11am to 4pm, and there will be dozens of different activities for 3 to 12 year-olds to try out.

Over 3,000 people attended the festivities last year.

This year’s event offers entertainment including bouncy castles, a laser game, a bungee run, an assault course, a climbing wall, pedal go-karts, circus skills and under 5’s areas, Umbanda drumming, a giant sand pit, arts and crafts activities and face painting.

Councillor Angela Macpherson, AVDC cabinet member for leisure, communities and civic amenities, said: “Play in the Park is all about giving children across Aylesbury Vale the opportunity to enjoy a fun day out with their friends and families.
“It’s really important children keep fit and active whilst having fun and events like this are a great way to encourage youngsters to try something new.”

Children must be accompanied by an adult and families are invited to bring a picnic, stay for the day and join in with the fun and games. Refreshments are also available on the day including a BBQ.

Entry to the event is free of charge.
