STEEPLE CLAYDON: Police are appealing for witnesses after a reported incident in Steeple Claydon on Monday, November 5.

Police say two girls, aged 11 and 12, were walking along Buckingham Road, opposite the Langston and Tasker bus depot, at about 5.10pm, when they were approached by a man in car, who spoke to them briefly. The girls became concerned and told their parents when they got home.

The car is described as a dark coloured, five-door hatchback, possibly a Renault Clio.

The man is described as white, in his 50s with a bushy white beard, short grey hair and wearing a white or grey T-shirt.

Det Sgt Bob Ducker, of Aylesbury CID, said: “We would like to speak to anyone who saw the car in the local area, or who recognises the description of the man.

“There is no need for residents to be unduly fearful. The girls were not harmed in any way and we are treating this as a suspicious incident. We currently have extra patrols in the area and only ask that residents are vigilant in the same way they would normally be.”

Call Det Sgt Ducker on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
