Council tax bills in South Northants will be frozen for a fourth consecutive year.

South Northants Council’s portion of the bill will remain at the level originally set in 2010/2011, following councillors’ unanimous agreement at Wednesday’s full council meeting.

It means residents living in a Band D property will pay £170.37.

Combined with council tax charges of £197.04 for Northants Police, £1,048.57 for Northants County Council, and an average parish council charge of £69.49, the total average bill for a resident of a Band D property will be £1,485.47.

Councillor Ian McCord said: “Once again SNC has frozen its council tax demand, and we’ve managed to do this whilst maintaining and improving our services for residents as demonstrated by the very successful improvements to the waste and recycling service.”
