Charlie Wood rewrote the lyrics and arranged the version of Together, which was originally written in the 1980s by songwriters Graham Jeffrey and Keith Wood.

Lyricist Graham and musician Keith wrote the song when they were involved in putting on pantomimes in Steeple Claydon, and Charlie hopes that when the pandemic is over they can all get together and re-record the song as a way of celebrating an end to the hard time.

Charlie, who is currently in lockdown with his wife Emma and daughters Chloe, six and Amy four, said: "If we hadn't been in lockdown I would have asked lots of people to be involved and come to my studio, no least my dad and Keith. But as it happens I've recorded all the different parts myself. I did consider driving to my dad's in Aylesbury with a very long microphone but thought the better of it!

"My dad loves the track though, and is looking forward to being involved when we re-record it."

Charlie says that he put together the song in the hope of reaching out and giving everyone hope in the current covid-19 pandemic.

All royalties made from downloads on platforms including iTunes and Spotify will go to NHS frontline workers.

"My father is the reason I went on to to write music and I loved doing this.

"We really are in this together so this song is the perfect choice at the moment. It would be great to give something back to our NHS heroes if it does well."

A moving YouTube video to accompany the song shows clips of elderly family members, frontline workers and young children, all doing their bit to support the cause.
