Police are hunting thugs who taunted a bin man while he cleaned a busy street and beat up the man who tried to stop them.
A group of two men and two young boys insulted the bin man and stole items from his rubbish cart as he was picking up litter in Sheep Street, Bicester.
A nearby shop worker, aged in his 20s, told them to leave him alone but the oldest man from the group punched him several times.
The man then took a spade from the rubbish cart and threatened to hit the victim with it.
People came out of nearby shops and the offenders walked away but police would like to track them down.
It happened around 4.15pm on December 5 and police have released CCTV images of men they would now like to speak to.
Investigating officer PC Rob Bull said: “The street was busy at the time and members of the public were in the area and would have seen what was happening.
“I would also like to speak to anyone who recognises the two men shown in the CCTV images as they may have information which could assist the investigation.”
If you have any information about those pictured, call PC Bull on 101.
Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
