Set your sights on free books

Bicester: Specsavers in Crown Walk will focus on literacy and eyecare this summer with a free book offer.

Every customer getting an eye examination at the Bicester branch from now until Saturday, September 3, will get a code entitling them to claim one of three free books.

Readers can choose from The Legacy by Katherine Webb, Spies of the Balkans by Alan Furst and Brixton Beach by Roma Tearne.

Store director Sarah Marshall said: “Many people are passionate about reading and it can come as a shock when we hit our 40s to find it’s becoming increasingly difficult to focus on close objects, like the pages of a book or a newspaper.

“This is known as presbyopia and the good news for book lovers is that it can easily be corrected with the right glasses. So there’s no reason to stop reading.”
