TWO events are being held in Winslow over Father’s Day weekend, as part of the Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity’s Sunny Sunflower Appeal this month

The appeal hopes to raise £10,000 for the Florence Nightingale Hospice, which needs £500,000 each year to keep essential services running.

Winslow Weekend’will see a table top sale on Saturday, June 18, at Winslow Public Hall from 10.30am to 2pm. And on Sunday, June 19, the charity holds its poignant Forget Me Not Midsummer Memory Walk – an annual four-mile stroll around the picturesque market town.

The walk, which aims to bring together relatives and friends of people affected by life-limiting illness, sets off at 10am from the hospice charity shop on the High Street, and should finish by midday.

Walkers will be able to inscribe a balloon with a personal message, to be released at a quiet spot early in the walk. Registration is £5, children £2. For a registration form, pop into the shop call 01296 429975 or visit
