As the economic downturn continues to bite, a grant giving charity which hands out around £20,000 a year is urging people to step forward if they need help.

Originally created by Henry VII The Brackley United Feoffee Charity has been supporting people in the town for the last 300 years.

Grants range from helping students with school trips and the costs associated with further or higher education, and has even been used to help families suffering a sudden illness.

Current chairman Caryl Billingham thinks the charity is the town’s best kept secret and added: “I don’t think we’ve had fewer applications, but I think we are surprised we are not getting more.”

For more information or to make an application write to Feoffee Secretary, Mrs Rosemary Hedges, 7 Easthill Close, Brackley NN13 7BS.
