A Maids Moreton campaigner is urging people to object to the latest planning application by Bellway Homes for an 80-home estate on Moreton Road.

Residents objected strongly to Bellway’s original application for the development, which was turned down by Aylesbury Vale District Council (AVDC).

But Bellway appealed against that decision and in January the planning inspector ruled in their favour.

AVDC is now going to the High Court to appeal against the inspector’s decision.

Local campaigner David Child, who wrote and complained about the decision, said: “In my opinion, builders can just bully the local councils until they get their way.

“If they go down the appeal route, in the end the local government will run out of money.”

The High Court case between AVDC and the Secretary of State for Communities is due to be heard on December 11.

Meanwhile, Bellway have submitted a new application to AVDC for the Moreton Road development.

And Mr Child warned people that they need to submit their objections all over again.

He said objections to the previous application will not be carried over to the new application.

The closing date for objections to the new application, number 13/01325/APP, is Monday, July 1.
