Hope after Suki's sad freak accident death

The family who's adopted greyhound broke her neck in a freak tree crash accident say they will adopt another dog in need.

Suki the rescue greyhound was walking with owner Louise Allison, 46 and her daughter India 10 last Wednesday in Buckingham, when she was spooked by four other dogs.

The ex-racing dog sped into undergrowth and fatally struck a tree breaking her neck.

Three-year-old Suki was co-owned by Louise’s parents Christine and David Galloway, who live in Lace Hill and cared for her through the week.

And Christine said that while the family is still shocked by the death of their beloved pet, they will adopt again from Greyhound Rescue West of England’s team in Bucks who they say do a fantastic job.

Christine said: “If anything good comes from losing our wonderful dog it can be to tell other people about the work of Greyhound Rescue West of England. Which rehomes the animals in Bucks.

“The adoption process is very thorough and they really work hard to tailor the right dog to the family.

“We had just got to that lovely stage with Suki, she had a hard life before she came to us but she was just starting to come out of herself.”
