NEARLY £200,000 of financial support for the voluntary sector and debt and welfare benefits for resident has been confirmed by South Northants Council.
At a meeting of the full council on Wednesday, July 27 SNC’s portfolio holder for resources Ian McCord spoke about the money which is available for community groups and charities. Grants are available for both capital or revenue funding and could fund up to 35 per cent of the total cost of a project. The council’s Grant Panel meets quarterly to consider applications and of the £237,570 made available in 2011/12 £5,588 is still available for revenue funding and £93,529 in capital funding. Debt and welfare services has also attracted £170,166 in funding.
Mr McCord said it was great news for the district as often the grants are matched by other grant giving bodies.
