Police are looking for a man who sexually assaulted a 20-year-old woman and tackled her to the ground.

The woman fought off the man close to the disused railway line in Buckingham and ran away over the bridge towards Hunter Street.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault which happened at 7.15pm yesterday, Thursday.

The man is believed to be Asian, aged between 20 and 25, around 5ft 9ins tall, slim with short dark hair and stubble.

He was wearing a royal blue jumper with a white shirt and beige trousers.

Detective sergeant Simon Johnson said: “The woman was approached from behind by an Asian man who sexually assaulted her before tackling her to the ground.

“I appeal to anyone who was in this area yesterday and saw a man of this description to contact police immediately.”
