Is your garden blooming lovely?

The summer planters and hanging baskets have arrived in Buckingham once more, signalling the start of Buckingham In Bloom.

And once again, Buckingham Town Council is looking for the best-kept gardens in Buckingham as well as the best community garden.

Does a neighbour’s front garden always look stunning in the summertime?

Are you proud of your own front garden?

If so, pick up an entry form for the Buckingham in Bloom competition for 2016, and let the town council know.

It might win a prize.

Nominated gardens will be judged on colour and overall appearance, and must be easily seen from the roadside.

Entry forms are available from Buckingham Town Council and the library, and the last date for entries will be Friday, July 1.

Judging will take place from July 4 and winners will be notified shortly afterwards.

Prizes will be awarded to the winning gardens.

Last year’s winner of the private gardens category was once again Mr Wilkins of Meadow Gardens, and the Community Garden was won by Options.

Buckingham’s hanging baskets and planters are funded and maintained each year by the town council. Last year, the town council agreed three-year contracts with Preston Bissett Nurseries for the hanging baskets and with Plantscape for the planters.
