A multi-million pound makeover at the Swan Pool ande Leisure Centre has begun.
After a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, the people of Buckingham can look forward to improved facilities, including aclimbing wall and dry side changing area.
Councillor Howard Mordue said that the £2.6million project will give the centre a new lease of life, and that work is set to be finished by early 2016.
He said: “The new-look Swan Pool and Leisure Centre will be a fantastic resource for this and future generations.
“It will be fit for the 21st century and beyond and I am sure people will want to use this modern facility that will enhance people’s lives and make them healthier.
“The start-on-site ceremony is a marvelous milestone for the project and will set in motion the hard work that will begin in making our vision for the centre become a reality.”
