Primary school children at Swanbourne C of E School took part in an exciting workshop just before the end of term, along with special guest, MP for Buckingham John Bercow.
Twenty-nine pupils enjoyed a computing workshop delivered by FUZE Technologies.
Based in Wotton Underwood, near Aylesbury, the company has designed its workshops to get students programming right from the start in a real text-based language, FUZE BASIC.
CEO and father of three Jon Silvera said: “It’s all about making coding as accessible as possible.”
By the end of the workshop, children were able to programme a robot arm to move – to their great excitement.
Mr Silvera said: “That workshop was one of the noisiest and most energy-crammed rooms I’ve ever experienced.
“They were shouting by the end. It was actually buzzing.
“There wasn’t a child there that didn’t benefit.”
John Bercow, who took part in the whole workshop, partnering with pupil James Beaumont to complete the challenges, said: “I was struck by how much fun the children were having. They were learning, the room was loud, full of energy, excitement and laughter. Every child was engaged and enthralled.
FUZE is running one-day children’s Summer Coding Clubs at Maids Moreton Village Hall on August 12 and 19, and at Lace Hill Academy on August 30 and the 31.
