FAMILY and friends of a Buckingham Rugby Club player are continuing to build a positive legacy in his name.

Kirk Nokes, 18, died in a car crash in Westbury in 2008 alongside three friends James Bowyer, Lee Grimshaw, and Edward Manders-Naden.

At 2pm tomorrow, Saturday November 5, Bicester and Buckingham teams will come together at Floyd Field in Maids Moreton for the Kirk Nokes Memorial Match.

The winners will be presented with the The Golden Ball trophy by Kirk’s mother Margaret Wells who said it was a pleasure to be supporting the players.

She added: “This annual match will be played for many years to come as a way of bringing these two clubs closer together and to support their young players.”

The event includes a barbecue and a post match party with live music from 7pm, tickets £5.
