A free workshop about meditation is taking place at Newton Purcell Village Hall as part of National Self Care Week.
The event on Saturday November 17 aims to encourage people to take part in meditation - a technique often associated with reducing stress.
Meditation is the practice of observing your mind, thoughts and body, without attachment or judgement.
Meditation involves participating sitting or lying down in a comfortable position, closing their eyes, breathing naturally and focus on each breath and the way the body moves when you inhale or exhale.
The workshop is being run by "Meditating for Living" who are based in Fringford, Oxfordshire.
The session will explore several different types of meditation, talk about the importance of self compassion and discuss what meditation is.
It takes place between 10am and 12noon and entry is free, with any optional donations going to the Hummingbird Centre for Cancer Support in Launton.
