An NHS trust wants to make sure it’s love and not STDs spreading across the county this Valentine’s Day.
The free condoms are being distributed to dozens of schools and colleges by the sexual health outreach team at the Northants NHS Foundation Trust.
It wants to promote safe sex at a peak time of romance between pupils after the trust received 30,000 calls about sexual matters last year.
Lisa Knight, sexual health outreach lead, said: “The love heart lollies for Valentine’s have been well received.
“What we are saying is enjoy your romantic weekend but keep safe and protected as you want to remember St Valentine’s Day for the right reasons and not end up at a sexual health clinic or with an unplanned pregnancy.”
