Man arrested for assault in Buckingham

A man has been arrested after police were called to a report of a stabbing in Buckingham on Friday afternoon.

Police were called to Candleford Court, in the new Watersreach development on London Road, at about 15.15pm.

A 52-year-old man was arrested and is on police bail for assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.

The injured party was treated at hospital for a leg wound but was released later that same day.

Insp Emma Garside, of the Buckingham neighbourhood policing team, said: “Police are not looking for any other persons in connection with this incident.

“Both persons involved were known to each other and an altercation over money has escalated, resulting in one person sustaining a leg injury.”
