A new pet store opening next month has received more than 400 applications from people wanting to work there.
Britain’s biggest pet supplies retailer, Pets At Home, is opening its new store on the Buckingham bypass on Friday, October 17.
A Vets4Pets veterinary practice will be opening inside the new store on Friday, October 24.
Taking over part of the premises formerly occupied by Focus on Osier Way, the new store has created 13 jobs for local people, including the creation of new veterinary positions.
The Vets4Pets practice will house a full operating theatre, digital X-ray facilities, in-house laboratory and a hospital ward providing a full range of treatments.
Area manager Alison Miller said: “There was a strong demand from Buckingham pet owners for Pets At Home to come to town, and we’re very pleased to have been able to grant them their wish.
“Pets At Home is committed to recruiting from the local area and I’m pleased we’ve found a team of talented individuals in Buckingham.
“They’re all extremely passionate about pets and can’t wait to get started.”
Store manager Debbie Harris, who previously worked at the Banbury branch, said: “It’s been a busy few months and now my team and I can’t wait to open the doors and welcome our new customers and their pets to the store.”
