MP for north Oxfordshire, Victoria Prentis, has written to her neighbouring MPs, urging them to support the Horton Hospital.
Former Prime Minister David Cameron (Witney), Andrea Leadsom (South Northants), Nadhim Zahawi (Stratford on Avon), and Commons Speaker John Bercow (Buckingham) are among the MPs to receive a letter urging them to back the Save the Horton campaign. Mrs Prentis said she wanted to make sure MPs whose constituents use the Horton were up to speed.
She said: “So far, the responses have been positive. I am hoping to arrange a meeting with fellow MPs, the trust and the clinical commissioning group towards the end of August. It will provide an opportunity for us to question those in decision-making positions.
“It is particularly important for the trust to understand the decisions they are taking affect not only the residents of North Oxfordshire, but also people in a large surrounding area.
“The Horton is a vital lifeline to hundreds of thousands of people; I will continue to do all that I can to ensure it remains the general hospital it is today.”
