The talent of local film-makers will be premiered at a networking night in Northampton on Monday, January 27.

The Northants Film Network will be screening three short films made in Northamptonshire and hosting a Q&A session with the film-makers in the Crown Room at Royal & Derngate.

This will be followedby informal networking for anyone involved in, or interested in, any aspect of film.

The three film-makers are all winners and finalists of the annual county film festival, Film Northants.

Among them is Towcester-based animator Ashley Williams, who won the Judges’ Choice and Anniversary Award in 2012 with his animated short Disparu.

The event will also see the premiere of Lost And Found made by David Easton, Film Northants Public Vote winner in 2010 and 2013.

Writer Colin Hill will be attending the networking event to answer questions.

The film-maker panel will also include director James Millar, a three-time Film Northants finalist.

Film Northants Festival chairman Lily Canter said: “This is a great opportunity for the public to see some fantastic films all made in Northamptonshire.

“The event is designed to help film-makers get together to share ideas but also showcase their work to a wider audience and get feedback from the public.”

Royal & Derngate chief executive Martin Sutherland said: “We’re pleased to be able to provide a networking space for local film-makers and film enthusiasts, as our new cinema next door, the Errol Flynn Filmhouse, continues to go from strength to strength.”

The event is open to all and entry is free. Doors open at 7pm and the screening will begin at 7.30pm.
