There’s a new face at Buckingham’s GP surgery.

Dr Charlie Drury joined The Swan Practice as a new GP at the beginning of July, having moved from Hitchin where he was a salaried GP.

Charlie, who grew up in Worcester, studied medicine at Imperial College London, before moving to the area recently.

He undertook his initial post-graduate medical training in and around London before moving to the GP programme in Stevenage.

He completed his training on the rotation in July 2015.

Following this, he has worked as a salaried doctor and as an out-of-hours doctor for Herts Urgent Care.

After completing his training, he is currently pursuing specialist interests in elderly care medicine and occupational medicine.

Charlie will be working at the Swan Practice four days a week.

He currently lives in Chipping Norton with his fiancée Kammilla. Aself-confessed sports fanatic, his main interests are golf and tennis.

The Advertiser recently reported the merger of Verney Close with The Swan Practice, creating a single GP practice serving Buckingham and the surrounding villages.

Dr Jonathan Pryse, executive partner at the Swan Practice, said: “We are delighted to welcome Charlie to our team at The Swan Practice.

“We are confident that he will be an excellent addition to our team, and he comes highly recommended.

“Charlie arrives at a particularly important time for us with our recent amalgamation with Verney Close and we are also pleased to announce we will have two more GPs joining our team later this year.”

The Swan Practice is also an accredited training practice, involved in training qualified doctors, in partnership with the University of Buckingham Medical School.
