New mums give Horton and JRII the thumbs-up

NEW mums have given maternity services at Banbury’s Horton Hospital and Oxford’s JRII an above average rating in a national survey.

The Care Quality Commission’s survey put the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals Trust, which manages the Horton and JRII, in the top 20% nationally in 10 categories, including pain relief, cleanliness, trust in staff, involvement in care decisions, and care received during labour and birth.

The trust’s senior midwifery manager, Bev Bennett, said: “We have worked hard to make sure we provide one-to-one care in labour, and the satisfaction rates show us that has been successful.”
